The Moment That Changed Everything

What inspired me to shift from building global brands to building leaders? One day, an outstanding leader and a dear friend was impacted by a mass layoff. She told me, “Without my title, I feel invisible.”

That broke my heart. Because I’d felt something similar. My identity, for so long, had been anchored to what I do. I lost my father when I was seven. I was determined to be “the good kid.” That early loss made me a high achiever — from academic scholarships to becoming a Vice President and CMO. Like many leaders, I experienced what I now call the Happiness Gap — the disconnect between external success and inner fulfillment.

That gap began to close at Google. While leading Brand Solutions and Innovation, I started volunteering as a leadership coach and facilitator. During the pandemic, I chose to fully pivot — from building brands to building leaders. I piloted a coaching program in Asia that later became an award-winning global initiative.

To serve the broader business community, I founded Diaresco Conscious Leadership — to help leaders navigate their own pivotal transitions: from success to significance, from pressure to purpose, from career to calling.
